Uzbekistan–Germany: New Directions of Scientific Cooperation on Medicinal Plants Discussed

An online meeting was held between the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency and a professor of the prestigious Philipps-Universität Marburg in Germany.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the scientific study of rare medicinal plants growing in Central Asia, particularly in Uzbekistan, the analysis of their chemical composition, and their effective application in the pharmaceutical industry.

The following priority areas of cooperation were identified:
conducting in-depth chemical analysis of medicinal plants belonging to the flora of Uzbekistan in German laboratories;
developing highly effective pharmaceutical substances based on natural sources;
organizing joint scientific expeditions and research projects involving scientists from both countries;
establishing experience-exchange programs and short-term scientific internships for industry specialists.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to consistently develop mutually beneficial cooperation, expand scientific research, and create innovative pharmaceutical products based on medicinal plants.
